Well, after our night at the hospital, we finally got to bring Miss Eloise home on Wednesday afternoon. After a little bit of a startling drive home in which Eloise gagged and spit up a lot,(I think she was carsick), things have gone smoothly with her since. She is nursing every 3-4 hrs and is sleeping well, especially in our arms. She seems to want to make up for lost time from not being held as much in the NICU and loves to snuggle more than anything. If you hold her and sing to her, she will smile at you. It is so sweet! We are really enjoying bonding with her.
Sadie was so excited to finally get to bring her baby sister home as well. She wants to hold her a lot and to see her every morning when she wakes up. When Sadie and Bo went to pull up the car at the hospital Sadie turned to Bo and said," Daddy, I am so happy!" It was the cutest thing.
Since coming home, it has been difficult with Sadie. She has sweet intentions overall, but definitely has her moments. The main thing is that she is defiant with us when we ask her not to do things. I know that this will pass, but she is having a hard time right now. Each day seems to get a little better though, so we are headed in the right direction. Just pray for her to adjust well and for us to have patience in the midst of her adjustment.
We are so excited to finally all be together now as a family. There are moments in the day where all 4 of us are sitting in one chair or in the bed and it is such a sweet feeling!
Please pray for our transition and adjustment to a family of 4,especially for Sadie. Also, pray for Eloise's health, as she is at high risk as a preemie, for several severe illnesses during these winter months.
Thanks for celebrating this wonderful homecoming with us! We can't wait for you to meet our soft new little bundle of love!
